IoT Powered

The Rev 1 scanner is literally IoT powered.  It turns on automatically when the garage door is raised.  Later it turns itself off all thanks to IoT.   Rev 2  can use this method if desired but it has eliminated IoT, which was used for power up and power down, and all the unreliable issues that went along with it.

IoT

The strategically placed scanning unit is powered up and down automatically by a technology called Internet of Things (IoT).   The Internet of things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

The following diagrams shows a flow chart of the power up and power down of the scanner.  The garage door opens sending a signal to the cloud which in turn powers up the scanner.  A user selectable timer activates, in this case set at 15 minutes.  When the timer expires the scanner is powered down.
