The Additron was an electron tube designed by Dr. Josef Kates, circa 1950, to replace the several individual electron tubes and support components required to perform the function of a single bit digital full adder. This is a photo of an actual Additron tube.
I am an Electrical Engineer / Computer Scientist with an MSEE and education beyond that in Computer Science and Medical Imaging. The first half of my career mostly involved Telecommunications and the second half of my career mostly involved Medical devices concentrated in Medical Imaging. I have concentrated in Embedded Engineering and specialized in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with my Master's Degree and a Patent that was primarily created by me. Thus the Additron, potentially the worlds first DSP!
